WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America women's track & field team competed on Super Bowl Sunday at the Christopher Newport University Vince Brown Invitational and got several strong performances.
Junior Andrea Galeano led the charge as she won the weight throw for the second-straight week. She boomed a throw of 15.19, nearly a meter and a half farther than the second-place finisher.
Senior Kiera Lyons added a top-10 performance in the mile as she finished ninth with a time of 5:33.40. She also took 13th in the 800 at 2:32.91.
Freshman Natalie Troy added a top-10 finish as she took seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.77 seconds.
The Cardinals are now set for a Landmark Conference tuneup as they compete at the Susquehanna Open on Friday, February 16, prior to the Landmark Championships at the same site the following weekend.
