WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America volleyball team defeated Landmark Conference rival Scranton, 3-1, at Swarthmore's Garnet Classic on Saturday afternoon. The Cards finished the tournament 3-1.
Both players were strong over the course of all four games, but put up truly impressive performances in the Scranton match. Herrington tied her career high with 20 kills. She also chipped in three digs and a block.
Juelle was just behind, going for a season-high 19 kills, just two off her personal-best mark.
Against the Royals, junior setter Michelle Seals assisted on 52 of 59 Catholic kills and went for the double-double with 12 digs.
The Cards also took on DeSales on Saturday morning, but were topped, 3-0. Juelle had a team-high seven kills, while Seals almost had the double-double with 25 assists and eight digs.
Catholic hosts its final home game and senior night in its next match on Tuesday, October 25, when they take on D.C. foe, Trinity.
